Well for one woman lightning struck twice as the same California lottery winner won over $1,000,000 in January and won another $260,000 jackpot last Friday which she claims gave away by mistake.
This unbelievably lucky lotto winner Emily Leach won a $1,000,000 at the beginning of the year. She then went to the same store last Friday where she bought a bunch of scratch card tickets. It now appears that one of these scratch card tickets was worth over $260,000 in a jackpot prize.
This is where the story of the scratchcard gets interesting as Leach claims that the now infamous scratchie was given by her to another man by mistake and she is indeed the winner of the jackpot scratchcard.
Leach has claimed that she was only trying to help a man who was begging for some money. She listened to his sad story where he claimed he had no money to even fill up on gas. She then preceded to hand him a $100 bill as well as unintentionally the now winning scratchcard she had just bought.
Responding to ABC new Leach stated,“I did nothing but help this man. I was trying to give him what he was asking for.”
The issue of the winning scratchcard is now been handled by the California Lottery who have forwarded this hotly contested scratch card ticket issue to their security and law enforcement division who are on the matter.
Spokesperson Russ Lopez stated,” At this point we would not make a judgment as to who owns the ticket. The ticket has not been claimed yet. Once the ticket has been claimed then we can say a little bit more,”
Lopez pointed out the unbelievable odds of hitting a winning jackpot not one but twice. The chance to win the $1million jackpot were a 1 in 1.2 million and the chance to win the scratch-off last Friday were a staggering 1 in 3.9 million.
The matter is under adjudication and Lopez stated that all sides of this intriguing winning scratch card are being looked into before a final decision is made.
However this saga is resolved, it is truly amazing at how you are able to win multiple life changing jackpots when scratching away on your scratch cards games or lotto tickets.
