An interesting report was released by research firm IHS which puts Apple in competition with itself. It seems that consumer money that would have otherwise gone to purchasing the iPad actually went to the iPhone 4S.

The iPad 2’s biggest competitive rival was their sister product the iPhone 4S. What emerged from the study is that consumers did not chose to purchase another tablet device but rather went on to purchase the iPhone 4S.

Despite Apple’s “problem” they still managed to sell over 15.4 million iPads in the fourth quarter which still pales in comparison to the unbelievable figure of over 37 million iPhones sold in the fourth quarter. Apple however is still the overall dominant player in the tablet market.

Apple slipped a bit in the fourth quarter with 57% of the tablet market share quarter which was down from 64% from the third quarter.

Mobile online scratch card apps mean that the scratch market has opened up for millions of more people. Gone are the days where you needed a PC to access online scratchgames. With today’s smartphone and tablets all you need to start scratching and winning is a mobile device.

IHS’s estimates were higher for iPad sales but Apple had no one except themselves to blame for their situation.

According to HIS analyst, Rhoda Alexander,” The primary alternative wasn’t the Kindle Fire–which debuted to solid sales in the fourth quarter–but Apple’s own iPhone 4S smartphone. The rollout of the iPhone 4S in October generated intense competition for Apple purchasers’ disposable income, doing more to limit iPad shipment growth than competition from the Kindle Fire and other media tablets.”

All major scratch cards site operators have managed to capture their regular scratch cards and bring you them in a format designed especially for your mobile devices.

Amazon’s Kindle had a very respectable quarter with over 3.9 million Fire tablets sold in the fourth quarter which gave them a solid 14.3% of the tablet market.

This is highly impressive as they have become the second biggest player in the tablet market after Samsung which tried marketing many different sized tablets.

Our fast paced lifestyles have forced online scratchcard operators to develop only the best and most accessible scratch card mobile apps.

Overall Apple captured over 62% of the world table market which was down from 87% in 2010 where they were basically the sole player in the market. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Line grabbed second place in the tablet market with 9.4% and Amazon snapped up 6% with their Fire tablet.

Amazon’s Fire tablet had a positive effect on the pricing of tablets in general as competitors had to compete with the Fire’s $200 attractive price tag.

It almost a certain bet that Apple will increase its market share again of the Tablet market with the upcoming and much anticipated iPad 3 expected sometime in March.

The global mobile technology revolution is having an immense effect on the scratch cards experience.  At the present pace online scratch cards are bound to become more and more popular with every passing day.
